There are many types of connectors, like UL connectors, and different types of connectors are applicable to different UL standards. Next, I will introduce the connector UL certification standards and their scope of application in detail.
1. UL 1977 UL certification standard for component connectors for data, signal, control and power applications
UL 1977 applies to connectors on commercial or household electronic equipment. The live mating performance of the connector can be evaluated. Connectors are for indoor use only.
2. UL 2238 UL certification standard for cable assemblies and accessories for industrial control and signal distribution
The UL2238 standard applies to industrial or commercial connectors, waterproof connectors, etc. Generally not used for live plugging. Connectors can be used outdoors or indoors.
3. UL 4128 battery energy storage system connector UL certification standard
The UL 4128 standard covers mating halves of intercell and interlayer connectors for electrochemical cell system applications. Inter-cell connectors and inter-layer connectors consist of cable connectors, cables and mating entries, intended for use in electrochemical cell system applications. These connectors are rated up to 2,000 Vdc or less and are not intended for connection or disconnection under load conditions. They are designed to be assembled to copper or copper alloy conductors.
4. UL 6703 Connector Standard for Photovoltaic Systems
- This standard covers latching or locking type photovoltaic connectors rated at 1500 V ac or dc or less as free connectors (separate entity) or as fixed connectors (panel or bulkhead type). These connectors are suitable for the wiring methods detailed in NFPA 70, Article 690, Part IV of the National Electrical Code.
- This standard applies to USE-2 type insulated stranded copper unipolar photovoltaic connectors or photovoltaic wires (PV wires) at 90°C, 105°C, 125°C or 150°C dry temperatures; 90°C wet ; 600, 1000 or 2000 V.
- The standard also covers locking or locking type multi-pole PV connectors rated at i1500 Vac or dc or less. Multi-pole PV connectors consist of connectors, panel mount connectors, distribution block and splitter connectors to facilitate connection to inverters and similar equipment in photovoltaic systems.
- This standard also applies to multi-pole PV connectors for TC-ER, USE-2 type insulated stranded copper or PV wire rated at 90°C, 105°C, 125°C or 150°C (PV wire ) C dry; 90°C wet; 600, 1000 or 2000 V.
